A photo a day in March.

So, I saw a couple of people participating in this over the month of February — most notably Jess at this tumblr (whom I discovered because the title of her tumblr closely resembles the title of my blog, and I have been delighted by that discovery ever since because she’s awesomesauce.) I decided I wanted to participate in it for the month of March, and we’ll see where it goes from there.

I think that A Photo A Day challenges like this are fun to do, but also are really great lubrication for creative thinking. I think it does a great job of fitting into the “Play Time” component of The Healthy Mind Platter, helping make new connections in the brain. I also think it will help me be more aware and mindful of what is around me. For example, I’m going to be searching *everywhere* for something that could go along with the word “Fruit” today, which is a challenge in itself, and will either take a lot of observation or an adventure to search for an appropriate picture later. Both scenarios are nourishing to my creative brain.

I plan to post all of my pictures here on this blog on the last day of March. I also plan to use Instagram throughout the challenge. I’m not a photographer, and while I know many people think it’s cheating to rely so heavily on photo-manipulative software, I personally think it’ll help give a style and consistency to the photos that I may not have otherwise accomplished. Also, I just love Instagram, however geeky that may make me. :-)

If you think you might be interested, check out the rules and join in. If you want to see my daily submissions, just follow me on Twitter or Facebook if you don’t already.

Wish me luck on my photography adventure!

I might have to participate. It’s a good motivator to get my camera out more often. Thanks.:)
